EUP students receive Principals Award
The winners of the 2021 Eastern Upper Peninsula Principals’ Awards have been announced.
In order to be eligible for this award, students need to have a 3.3 grade point average or higher, a 24 on the ACT or a 1180 on the SAT and be a graduate of an Eastern Upper Peninsula high school. These students are recognized at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
In previous years, students needed to achieve an SAT score of 1200 in addition to the other requirements in order to receive this award.
Local students include those from Brimley, Cedarville, Ojibwe Charter School, Rudyard, Pickford, St. Ignace, Engadine, Newberry, Whitefish, Mackinac Island and the Sault.

SAULT STE. MARIE Almost 40 Business Professionals of America students at the Sault Area Career Center Chapter put their skills to the test at a recent competition at the Regional Leadership Conference.
Business Professionals of America is a youth organization which provides leadership and business opportunities for high school students to prepare them as they make decisions on their future careers. The skills that students learn through participating in a variety of business experiences that will help prepare them for a career in the workforce.
They competed in many different events, ranging from accounting to graphic design to public speaking. Events are individual or teams with the participants learning many skills from each. Students who placed high enough are eligible to attend the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference taking place virtually in March.
