Rollover Crash With Ejection Reported On I-95 In Pawtucket

A serious motor vehicle crash drew a large emergency response to I-95 southbound in Pawtucket near Exit 27 on April 8 before 6 a.m. (Shutterstock)
PAWTUCKET A fatal motor vehicle crash on I-95 southbound right before Exit 27 took the life of a Massaschusetts man this morning. Rhode Island State Police identified the victim as Osman Eduardo Lopez-Enriquez, age 19, of Attleboro.
At around 5:50 a.m., crews responded to a rollover crash in the high-speed lane with a partial ejection and unresponsive party. State police said that the Toyota Scion was being operated by Lopez-Enriquez. Around 500 feet south of the Walcott Street overpass, the Scion veered left, struck jersey barrier in the center median, and rolled over. Lopez-Enriquez was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Pawtucket Fire Department. He was not wearing a seatbelt. ....

Man dies when hit by train in Providence

PROVIDENCE An unidentified man died Thursday morning when he was hit by an Amtrak train near 1 Valley St.
Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams said the man was trespassing on railroad property at 10:13 a.m., when he came into contact with Amtrak Northeast Regional train 93 traveling between Boston and Norfolk, Virginia.
Abrams said no one on the train was injured. At the time, there were 19 passengers, plus crew members.
Amtrak police, Providence police and the Office of State Medical Examiners are investigating.
Providence police Cmdr. Thomas Verdi said the incident does not appear suspicious. He said the police were dispatched at 10:24 a.m. to a report of someone hit by a train and found the man on Track 1 of the Amtrak main line. ....
