Shares of Flywire, a company that helps organizations accept foreign-currency payments, debuted on the Nasdaq on Wednesday at $34 apiece, up from their $24 IPO price. They rose about 4% on their first day of trading, giving the Boston-based fintech a roughly $3.5 billion valuation by day’s end. As a private company, Flywire was last valued at $1 billion after a round of funding in early 2020, according to a PitchBook estimate. 
Founded in 2009 under the name peerTransfer by Spanish serial entrepreneur Iker Marcaide, Flywire originally aimed to make it easier for international students to pay U.S. tuition without incurring  foreign currency fees that could range from 3% to 5%. Wunderite raises $3M to build software for indie insurance agencies
This morning Wunderite, a Boston-based software startup, announced that it has raised $3 million in an early-stage round led by Spark Capital.
Wunderite builds and sells software designed to help insurance agencies more rapidly process insurance applications, and automate some of their processes. With an industry-focus on insurance agencies while providing some API hooks, the startup fits into a number of startup trends, including vertical SaaS, developer-friendly tooling, and insurtech.
TechCrunch caught up with co-founders Peter MacDonald (CEO) and Joe Schnare (COO) about their company and its new investment. MacDonald previously worked for his family’s insurance business, while Schnare earned insurance experience by working for a large player in the market. The two met while at business school. ....

Wunderite, a Boston, MA-based provider of a customer-facing platform for independent insurance agencies, raised $3m in seed funding.
The round was led by Spark Capital with participation from Boston Seed, John Wepler from MarshBerry, Scott Addis from Beyond Insurance, Brian Hetherington from The ABD Team, Ty Harris from Openly, Andrew Krantz from York International, Heffernan Insurance Brokers, Trustco Inc, and BrokerTech Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Spark Capital’s General Partner Alex Finkelstein joined its Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and increase distribution to agencies across the country. ....

NEW YORK, April 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Higharc, the all-in-one homebuilding platform for design, sales, and construction, announced today that it has raised $21 million in Series A funding, led by Spark Capital. New investors include MetaProp, Montage Ventures, Tectonic Capital, PlanGrid Co-Founder Ralph Gootee, Built Technologies Founder Chase Gilbert and Carta CTO Jerry Talton. Existing investors Pillar Ventures, Javelin Venture Partners, Lux Capital and Vertex Ventures also participated in the round.
