Competing against high schoolers from all classifications in the state, Poole finished fifth overall. While a fifth-place finish against the best runners in the state is certainly an impressive feat, Poole’s accomplishment is even more jaw-dropping as she competed this year as a freshman. “We are expecting a lot out of Danyelle over the next three years,” said Stuttgart Ricebirds track coach Alex Holt. Poole missed becoming a 4A state champion by a mere .01 of a second, losing to Ozark’s Anna Woolsey. Woolsey ran a 26.25 at the 4A meet while Poole ran a 26.26. ....
