DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - Albany City Manager Sharon Subadan has been hired as the new county administrator for Douglas County,
Douglas County announced Subadan’s hiring on Wednesday.
“Recognized as a highly-skilled manager and a dynamic senior executive, Ms. Subadan brings a proven track record of success in building effective teams, creating opportunities for growth, and implementing fiscally responsible budgets,” the county said in a release.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo s father, Mario, when he was governor of New York state, kept a low profile. ALBANY A federal appeals court has rejected an appeal by the city of Troy and the widow of a patrol sergeant who fatally shot an unarmed DWI suspect in 2016. The decision upholds a federal magistrate s prior ruling that found there were material questions of fact about the shooting that should be resolved by a jury trial.
The ruling by the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals also declined to grant qualified immunity to the deceased sergeant, Randall French, because eyewitness testimony called into question the officer s claim that the shooting was justified. ....

ALBANY A 17-year-old was shot Monday evening on Lark Street.
Police were called for reports of shots fired around 5:10 p.m. near Lark and First streets. Shortly after that, Albany Memorial Hospital staff called police to say a 17-year-old had come to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his leg. Police believe the teen was shot near Lark and First streets. His injuries are not life-threatening.
