ALBION â On a day when the Albion Rotary Club announced a back-to-normal meeting schedule, it chose to honor someone in the community who does so much more than normal. Albion Rotarian Joy LeCount introduced Jason Brown, 43, as the clubâs Citizen of the Year during Thursdayâs luncheon gathering at the Albion Pizza Depot. âI was surprised,â Brown said. âI was shocked. It feels awesome.â LeCount had invited Brown to speak at Thursdayâs meeting under the guise of a program involving Brownâs work with the Indiana Deaf Camp. Brown and LeCount did do that program â and it was a big reason LeCount said Brown was deserving of the honor. ....
ALBION â The Noble County Public Library is taking steps toward reopening its meeting rooms for reservations later this summer. The meeting rooms have been closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The library board tentatively agreed to reactivate the online meeting room reservation system on June 1, depending on Noble Countyâs color status for COVID-19. No reservations will be taken until after June 1, and a spike in COVID-19 cases in Noble County could push back that date to later in the summer. Library trustees discussed meeting room policy updates and user fees for private parties and businesses. The board will consider approval of any policy and fee changes at its May 13 meeting at the Avilla branch. ....
Breakfast with Easter Bunny is Saturday ALBION â ETA THETA Tri Kappa will hold Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Albion Volunteer Fire Station on Saturday, April 3, from 8-10 a.m. Breakfast is $4 for adults and $2 for children. People can bring their camera for photos with the Easter Bunny. Albion Lions Club will hold a raffle for four large Easter baskets filled with gifts for the whole family. Winners do not need to be present to win. Baskets are on display at Albionâs Pizza Depot and Albion Community State Bank. Tickets can be purchased at both locations, at the breakfast or from a Lion member. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for 6. Due to COVID-19, no egg hunt will take place, but each child will be given an Easter goodie bag before they leave. ....
