Where to find farmers' markets in and around Boston

Email
In 2020, shopping at a farmers’ market in the Boston area came with an abundance of COVID-19 rules and regulations. Cash was discouraged, masks were necessary, and strict social distancing measures were in place.
What a difference a year makes.
As Massachusetts continues to reopen, many of the COVID-19 restrictions have disappeared from local markets, instead replaced by reminders to stay home if you feel sick and to try your best to keep a distance from other shoppers. Some places  including Brookline Farmers’ Market and Union Square Farmers’ Market are still requiring that all shoppers, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask. But most have dramatically relaxed their rules for outdoor shopping, instructing visitors to do what feels most comfortable. (Be sure to check with each market for individual regulations, as well as whether they accept SNAP, WIC, and senior vouchers.) ....

Canada and the First Nations: A history of broken promises

St Paul, Alberta, Canada – Scattered across a rolling prairie landscape in northeastern Alberta are small towns, hamlets and First Nations reserves, most within just a few minutes’ drive of each other.
But the neighbours here are living worlds apart. In one world are members of the white-majority settler community, whose local heritage is traceable to an average of five generations. In the other are the Indigenous people whose ancestors have lived here for millennia.
They are old foes whose suspicion of one another dates back more than a hundred years.

With ridership creeping up to its highest levels since the pandemic began, the MBTA will boost frequency on its subway system and more than two dozen bus routes next month, officials announced on Monday.
A new summer schedule that takes effect on June 20 will run Red, Orange, and Blue Line trains at close to the same frequency they did in the winter before a package of unpopular service cuts hit, plus deploy more Green Line trolleys on the C, D, and E branches.
During peak travel time, riders should expect headways between trains of five minutes on the main center “trunk” of the Red Line, down from 5.5 minutes this spring; 10 minutes on the Red Line’s “branches” after it splits to toward either Ashmont or Quincy; seven minutes on the Orange Line, down from eight minutes; five minutes on the Blue Line, down from 5.5 minutes; and anywhere from 7.3 to 8.5 mi ....
