Sydney   The global chip shortage is going from bad to worse with carmakers on three continents joining tech giants Apple and Samsung Electronics in flagging production cuts and lost revenue from the crisis.
In quick succession, Honda said it will halt production at three plants in Japan for about five to six days next month; BMW flagged it will pause Mini car production at its Oxford, England, factory for three days; and Ford reduced its full-year earnings forecast due to the debilitating chip shortage, which it now sees extending into next year. ....

‘We stand with India as you fight COVID,’ says Singapore High Commission
To speed up delivery, Singapore has deployed two of its Air Force aircraft to transport oxygen cylinders and other critical supplies that will arrive in India later on Wednesday.
“Last year, India helped the world and Singapore by exporting essential medicines and supplies. Now we stand with India as you fight COVID. Singapore Minister Maliki Osman flagged off two of RSAF’s C-130s, arriving in India today with 256 oxygen cylinders to support last mile oxygen delivery,” Singapore High Commission in India said on Twi ....

Only one-third of the total 500 oxygen beds at the ITBP operated COVID-19 care centre in south Delhi are occupied as the border guarding force said the capacity to admit coronavirus infected patients at the facility is “limited” due to supply of oxygen. ....
