Bhutan is on brink of vaccinating its entire adult population within a week of launching campaign

Bhutan’s health minister has said the country will vaccinate its entire adult population within a week of launching a nationwide innoculation drive.
The country’s prime minister, Lotay Tshering, had said the country aims to become one of the first in the world to administer the first doses to all its eligible population. He said the second dose of the vaccination programme is scheduled 8 to 12 weeks from now. 
A government update said 423,114 people have been vaccinated as of Thursday. Bhutan had covered nearly 40 per cent of its eligible population, estimated at 533,558, by the second day of the vaccination campaign which began on 27 March.  ....

This small country in the Eastern Himalayas bordered by China and India occupies an area of 38,394 squared kilometers, making it a bit smaller than Switzerland. It has a multiethnic population of 760,000 inhabitants. While it has had a hereditary monarchy since 1907, the country became a parliamentary democracy in 2008.
Bhutan has already vaccinated 466,811 people in the last nine days, which is 85% of the eligible population and 62% of Bhutan’s total population. The second dose of the vaccination program is already scheduled eight to 12 weeks from now – depending on the arrival of more vaccines from India over the next few months. ....

Opinion: Reflecting on Challenges of Taiwan's Immigration Law- A Personal Story of Taiwan and Tibetan Spouses

On November 11th 2020, a group of nongovernmental organisations in Taiwan including the Human Right Network for Taiwan and Tibet (HRNTT/西藏台灣人權連線), Student for a Free Tibet (Taiwan) and Association of Visual Arts in Taiwan (台灣視覺藝術協會
) organised a talk that discusses challenges of Taiwanese immigration law. The talk was organised as part of the monthly Lhakar program
organised by the HRNTT. The talk consisted of two main speakers, Tsai Yung-ching and Wang Xi. 
Tsai Yung-ching (蔡詠晴) was one of the main speakers, and she is a documentary director by profession.  Tsai shared her first-hand experience and elucidated on various issues and challenges of Taiwan’s immigration law, particularly regarding ambiguity about refugee issues. She had a considerable contribution in the government decision to grant Tibetan spouses in Taiwan residential rights. Tsai Yung-ching first encounter with the Tibet issue was in 2004 wh ....
