Ronaldo Souza has successful arm surgery, expected to recover in six months

Surgery is done. Thank God Everything is well.
The doctor who performed the surgery, Rickson Moraes, spoke to Marcelo Alonso of Sherdog.com and said that Souza’s X-rays look good and added a timeframe for recovery.
“I just did a video call with him and saw the X-ray. The surgery was excellent. They placed two plates to fix the bones. The team that did the surgery will evaluate, but normally that type of fracture takes around six months for a complete recovery,” Moraes said.
The doctor also compared Souza’s injury to that of Chris Weidman, who suffered a broken leg at UFC 261. Moraes said that they are similar and both men can make a full recovery. ....

Jacare Souza To Undergo Surgery On Broken Arm Suffered At UFC 262
Jacare Souza lost his first bout of 2021 at UFC 262 against fellow Brazilian Andre Muniz. It was the first submission defeat of his mixed martial arts career, ending in an audible, first-round armbar. This is also the first time the former Strikeforce champion was defeated in consecutive fights that both ended by stoppage.
Souza was transported to a local Texas hospital promptly after the fight. According to MMA Fighting by virtue of Rickson Moraes, Souza’s long-tenured doctor, immediate X-rays showed a fractured right humerus, which will require surgery. He will stay in the United States for surgery instead of flying back to Brazil, Souza’s motherland. ....

HOUSTON Another UFC lightweight is moving up the ladder at 155 pounds, at Tony Ferguson s expense.
Beneil Dariush (21-4-1) earned the biggest win of his career on Saturday as he out-pointed Ferguson in a three-round bout at UFC 262. All three judges scored the non-title bout, which co-headlined the pay-per-view event inside the Toyota Center, 30-27 for Dariush.
It marks the third consecutive loss for Ferguson, 37, who went into 2020 with a 12-fight win streak and an undisputed lightweight title shot. Unfortunately for Ferguson, his title fight against then-champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and he has since suffered losses to Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira and Dariush. ....
