It was an incredibly difficult year in so many ways. But it would have been even more difficult if there hadn’t been music to help us get through it all.
Music was a constant source of encouragement and escape, in a year when we badly needed both. Sure, the concert industry basically closed up shop back in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but there were still albums, videos, singles and the newest star of the show live-streamed events to enjoy. ....

South Jersey has lost a number of veteran entertainers this year


It s My Happy Place time with Stephen Zeppy Cole, who was the guitarist with the casino act known as the Cole Brothers. He said his Happy Places in his apartment are his bedroom, where he plays his guitar, and either his living room or his kitchen.
The South Jersey live music scene will look back on this year as one of the worst ever when it came to the deaths of entertainers who brought joy to tens of thousands of people over the decades.
Longtime local entertainers who have died this year include Johnny D’Angelo, Rebecca “Becky” Orsatti, Kenny Jeremiah of the Jeremiah-Hunter Band, Stephen “Zeppy” Cole of the Cole Brothers and Gerald “Jerry” Boyle. At least one death was due to complications from COVID-19. ....
