Friends and Neighbors: Red-tail volunteers plant 600 trees in Muncie nature preserve

Volunteers help to plant 600 trees in Red-tail Land Conservancy s Reber Woods on April 17, 2021.
• More than 50 volunteers from Muncie, Yorktown, and surrounding communities planted 600 trees in Reber Woods on April 17. The spring tree-planting event was coordinated by
Red-tail Land Conservancy, in partnership with Plant Roots Foundation and Heintzelman Hardwood Floors, to celebrate Earth Month, jumpstart restoration of a forest, and empower community members to build deeper connections with nature.
Tree-planting work crews led by Indiana Master Naturalists included individuals, families, and scout troops. Reber Woods has a remnant of a mature wetland forest. The hundreds of native trees volunteers planted in an adjacent field will expand the remnant ....
