A Wallkill man is facing indictment charges that include attempted murder stemming from the shooting of a man outside a restaurant last month.
Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler says Hector Luna, Jr., 27, allegedly shot a man outside of You You Asian Restaurant and Bar in the Town of Wallkill at around 9:15 p.m. on April 14. Charles Miller had been dining there prior to the incident and was treated at a hospital.
Hoovler says Luna was taken into custody at the Hampton Inn hotel located in Pike County, Pennsylvania, and waived extradition to face the charges in New York. Multiple law enforcement agencies were credited with assisting in the investigation. ....

Indictment accuses a Port Jervis man of being a major drug trafficker

GOSHEN - Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced Wednesday that a Port Jervis man has been indicted on drug charges, including operating as a major drug trafficker.
Richard McInturff, 30, of Port Jervis, was arraigned on the charges before Orange County Court Judge Hyun Chin Kim.
In addition to operating as a major drug trafficker, McInturff was indicted on charges of first-, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies; and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
McInturff was arrested March 18 after investigators from the Port Jervis Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff s office who executed a search warrant at his residence found 7,658 packets of suspected heroin and a scale commonly used to weigh narcotics when they are packaged for sale. ....
