Least and most vaccinated areas in Oxfordshire revealed

SOME of the most densely populated areas in Oxfordshire remain behind in the vaccination efforts despite a Government push to get every adult to received their first Covid-19 jab by July 19.
NHS data has revealed major variation in areas with residents who have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 jab, and it shows that Oxford Central continues to have the lowest coverage in the entire county.
While nearly half of people in the city have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures show that less than half of Oxford Central residents have been vaccinated.
Other areas with low vaccine coverage include Headington with 50.7 per cent and East Central Oxford with 56.5 per cent. ....

Scheme to help Oxford diabetics with health extended

A SCHEME to help Diabetics in Oxford manage their health is being extended.
A funding boost from the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (OCCG) has enabled Oxford City Council, in partnership with charity Active Oxfordshire, to design a modified GO Active, Get Healthy programme for lockdown.
More than 7,000 people in Oxford live with diabetes, and the programme features six months of telephone support to help participants build confidence with physical activity, make personal goals for moving more, and discover ways they can incorporate movement into their everyday lives.
Those with type two diabetes and high blood sugar levels can be at increased risk of becoming seriously ill from coronavirus. ....
