Argentina have suspended their domestic football season just weeks before the nation part-hosts the Copa America.
The competition, which is due to kick-off on June 13, is scheduled to include a significant number of games in Argentina. On Thursday, it was revealed that Colombia had been stripped of their right to co-host the tournament.
But on Friday it emerged that due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and new measures the domestic season would be suspended in Argentina until at least May 30. There is no indication, as it stands, as to what impact this would have on the Copa America. ....

BUENOS AIRES, April 6 (Reuters) - The Argentine Football Association (AFA) tightened sanitary rules around the professional game on Tuesday but stopped short of suspending the league, as cases of COVID-19 increase across the South American nation.
Under the new rules players must go to training and matches in their own vehicles, stripped to play whenever they can, and they should avoid using dressing rooms as much as possible.
Social distancing guidelines must be followed more closely and teams who do not adhere to the regulations face possible fines, the AFA said. ....
