For far too long, many have struggled in this state with its greatest wealth discrepancies. This historic recovery legislation is intentional in its purpose to rebuild our country in ways not imagined before. At its heart is its stated and clear guidance to invest in children, low-wage workers, health care and equity. The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, together with many nonprofit partners, have reached out to all the municipalities in Eastern Connecticut to urge them to purposefully commit 30% or more of their rescue-act funds to create more thriving communities.

Royal Borough councillors have overwhelming supported an ambitious plan that will see the centre move to a more suitable building, leaving the decaying old site to be transformed into a four bedroom family home. Achieving for Children (AfC) - which delivers childrens services across the borough - worked from 18 to 20 Ray Mill East until recently. The buildings now needs substantial repairs and as an interim measure AfC s Family Centre is currently using a room at Riverside Children’s Centre, which only allows one family to meet at a time. The proposed plan would see 18 Ray Mill Road East sold off and number 20 turned into a four bedroom affordable family home.
