Washington County and surrounding residents needing to add some business attire to their wardrobe can still take advantage of a free opportunity from Washington for Justice. The organization has extended the hours of their “Dress for Success” event from last weekend, offering free clothing from casual to professional for all ages, genders, and sizes from 4-8 p.m. tomorrow and Friday and from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday at the Mills Seed Building in Washington. Those wanting some help preparing for their next job opportunity can receive assistance this week from Washington for Justice. The group is holding a resume and mock interview workshop from 4-7 p.m. this Friday and 11 a.m-1 p.m. Saturday at the Mills Seed Building in Washington. Washington for Justice Director Meredith Henderson says anyone high school age and older is welcome to attend, “We want to provide interested community members with help writing their resume or practicing interview skills. We want people to feel confident during their next interview or when writing their resume for opportunities in their lives that they want to pursue. It never hurts to have extra eyes to look at your resumes and make suggestions and the same with interview prep.” ....

The Washington for Justice organization wants to express their gratitude to those who helped make their inaugural holiday meal kit program an overwhelming success this December. The group which formed last year hoped they could help Washington County families who had a difficult 2020, with the expectation of gathering around two dozen Midwestern and Latino-style meal kits. Washington for Justice Communications Director Bethany Glinsmann says they eventually collected enough community donations to provide 63 kits, “When our director Meredith Henderson had the idea for the meal kits, we were all really excited about it, and to see it grow into an event that was larger than we could have anticipated was really great. So I was really proud of our community for being generous and helping our fellow community members in a time of need.
