Before Lynnwood – a peaceful land of giant trees
When the loggers and the homesteaders came to the area we know today as Lynnwood, except for the sound of the birds and the soft breeze as it rustled through the branches of the immense trees, there was silence. Located a few miles east and inland from Puget Sound, this land seemed to offer little attraction for the native Salish people. Records indicate they preferred to settle near the rivers or salt water. This land had neither. It was the prospect of lumber the giant trees the fir, hemlock and cedar that became the force behind the allure for a completely different group of people the loggers from the East. They did arrive and the land would be forever changed. ....

Armando Chilelli, 91, died on February 21st, 2021, at his home in Edmonds with his family by his side. He was born April 16th, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York.
Armando grew up in Italy, in a town called Paola. This is where he fell in love with his forever love. By one look at a picture set upon a wall. He set his sights on Maria Teresa DePaola (Sina); they married on August 28th, 1953. They celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Armando and his bride moved from Italy to Alderwood Manor, Washington. They settled and lived in Lynnwood for 40 plus years, then the last twenty years in Edmonds. ....

Hit-and-run driver arrested after crash kills 2 pedestrians on SR-524

BOTHELL, Wash. - The driver suspected of killing two pedestrians in a hit-and-run crash along State Route 524 in the Bothell area west of Alderwood Manor has been caught. The driver fled the scene after the crash but authorities were able to track down the vehicle at a nearby 7-Eleven and arrest the driver a few hours later. Washington State Patrol says 27-year-old Alec Gajdos was booked into Snohomish County Jail for felony hit and run. ....

A driver, a 27-year-old man, was arrested for hitting and killing two pedestrians in Bothell Friday morning.
BOTHELL, Wash. - The driver suspected of killing two pedestrians in Bothell has been arrested.
Troopers are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed two pedestrians in Bothell. In a release from WSP Friday night, details state the victims are a man and woman. An updated release says the victims are a 32-year-old man from Lynnwood, Carson Cox and 39-year-old woman from Marysville, Sarah Foxheath.
According to Trooper Rocky Oliphant with Washington State Patrol, the driver told troopers he was on his way to work around 5:30 a.m. Friday when the crash happened. ....
