Electronic Music Conference (EMC) is an annual conference and festival, based in Sydney, NSW. Since being founded in 2012  EMC has programmed, produced and hosted numerous physical and virtual events and initiatives centred around the business and culture of electronic music. 
We are searching for a smart, proactive and driven all-rounder to be a part of our team to assist our marketing and programming team  in delivering our conference, festival and other physical and virtual events. Working closely with EMC’s Executive Producer and Marketing and Communications Manager you will be critical to programming ideas, booking talent and speakers, compiling essential marketing and promotional materials, managing digital communications such as social media, eDM marketing, web communications and ticketing pages. ....

International Women’s Day has been marked in India on March 8 for several years, but it is only in the recent past that the world of Hindustani music seems to have joined in these celebrations. Sadly, much of this has to do with staging large, sponsored events, no different from any other event in the year, rather than addressing issues related specifically to women in general and women artiste in particular.
There is a perfunctory inclusion of women performers in concerts held as part of these events, and in many cases, all the members of the ensemble are women. While the latter is a welcome change, I wonder why this should be restricted only to concerts held on this day. All-women ensembles have been created recently, but should not necessarily be put together only for International Women’s Day. ....
