“The trends are going in the wrong direction,” said Saini of the increase and quality of cyber attacks.
“They’re so much more sophisticated. In the last five to 10 years, things have changed completely. The level of sophistication has increased exponentially.”
Saini said what should concern everyone is the introduction of artificial intelligence into cybersecurity. With virtually every facet of society moving towards some type of connection to the Internet, the ramifications and points of vulnerability are also growing rapidly.
“We need to up our way of defending ourselves,” Saini said. “We need to think like the military does in developing new weapons and defences to deal with what’s coming in the future.” ....
