Geopolitical compulsion dictates that laying the foundation of friendly relation with neighboring countries should be the cornerstone of Bangladesh foreign policy. It should logically be dictated to focus attention on India which is surrounded from three sides but Bangladesh has been sandwiched between two giant neighbors of Asia: India and China. Therefore, Bangladesh could not ignore China either as well. As a matter of fact, ancient Bengal has had the best of relation with China.
Presently, India is contesting against China since the maiden visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of BJP on 6 and 7 June in 2015 as a part of his neighborhood first programme when he exchanged instrument of ratification of 1974 Land Boundary agreement with Bangladesh removing major irritation between two countries. ....

Bangladesh authorities must conduct prompt, thorough, impartial and independant investigations into the death of protesters and respect people s right to peaceful assembly.
The Bangladeshi authorities must conduct prompt, thorough, impartial, and independent investigations into the death of at least 14 protesters across the country between 26 and 28 March, and respect the right to freedom of peaceful assembly, said 11 human rights organizations in a joint statement today. The organizations also called on the international community to urge Bangladeshi authorities to put an end to the practice of torturing and forcibly disappearing opposition activists.
Between 20 and 26 March 2021, police and members of ruling party Awami League attacked a series of protests across the country organized by different political and civil society groups, beat up and injured hundreds of largely peaceful protesters, according to local media reports. ....
