India dispatches first consignment of 1 lakh Covishield vaccines to Maldives
India on Wednesday dispatched the first consignment of 100,000 doses of Covishield vaccines from Mumbai s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Male in the Maldives. The flight will first arrive in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and then leave for Male. With this, Maldives (along with Bhutan) has become the first recipient of India s gift of the Covishield vaccines, manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII). Earlier on Wednesday, India sent a consignment of 1.5 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine Covishield to Thimphu, Bhutan.

Maldives s President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has thanked the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the country got 100,000 doses of India manufactured covid vaccine on Wednesday. 
The Maldives got the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India Covishield as a gift from India. The gift was sent to Male within 96 hours of its India s countrywide roll-out.
Addressing the nation, President Solih said, This vaccine is a generous donation from the Government of India to the people of the Maldives. On behalf of the people and the Government of the Maldives, and in my own name, I thank the friendly people and the Government of India, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.   ....

Covid-19: First consignment of Covishield vaccine dispatched to Bhutan
New Delhi: A consignment containing 100,000 doses of COVISHIELD vaccines and another consignment containing 150,000 doses of COVISHEILD vaccines will reach Maldives and Bhutan respectively on Wednesday.
