Indonesia could emerge as the largest importer of raw sugar from India and may make up for any drop in exports to Iran, where shippers are facing payment problems.
“The roles of Indonesia and Iran with regard to India’s sugar exports are set to change with Jakarta likely to import over 10 lakh tonnes against three lakh tonnes last season (October 2019-September 2020),” said MEIR Commodities India Managing Director Rahil Shaikh.

NCUI’s education arm NCCE head Dr V K Dubey was the returning officer to oversee the election process.
On his election as President, Dandegaonkar said, “I am thankful to the Directors of the federation for giving me such a big responsibility to lead the federation. I assure all Directors and members of the federation to provide an effective voice to the Indian cooperative sugar sector”.

New Delhi, Dec 18 : Jaiprakash R. Salunke Dandegaonkar was unanimously elected as the President of the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. at the apex Sugar Body s 214th meeting of the Board of Directors on Friday.
Dandegaonkar succeeds Dilip Walse Patil, who had resigned as the President of NFCSF on becoming the Cabinet Minister of State Government of Maharashtra, said the co-operative sugar industry body in a statement.
