If I was a college student or a professor shopping around for a new Windows laptop, MSI’s Prestige 14 Evo would be at the top of my list. It’s small, it’s light, the battery lasts for hours and hours, and it will save lengthy dissertations in a snap. It’s a well-rounded productivity laptop that isn’t loud or flashy, but understands some of the more nuanced needs of a student or professional who can’t find a seat near an electricity outlet. (Those days were brutal!) It’s up there in price compared to other laptops with discrete graphics cards, but many of those laptops can’t do what the Prestige 14 can due to Intel’s Evo certification. It’s a welcome newcomer to a space that’s generally dominated by brands like Dell and HP.

Several brands announced 11th Gen vPro laptops at CES 2021
Along with new processors for gaming laptops, self-driving car tech, and previews of next-gen architectures, Intel used its presence at CES 2021 to launch the 11th Gen vPro platform for a new wave of business laptops. What sets vPro-enabled PCs apart from ordinary ones is additional validated hardware and software for security, reliability, and remote management which includes deployment and serviceability in large-scale business environments. Over 60 new vPro-enabled laptops are set to launch in 2021, taking advantage of these features, plus the performance, graphics, AI, and battery life improvements of the underlying 11th Gen ‘Tiger Lake' CPU architecture. Some of these laptops will be ultraportables developed under intel's Evo initiative, which has its own set of requirements in terms of performance and design.

Dynabook Portégé X30W-J Review: Weighing in at under a kilogram it is built to go anywhere - Notebooks

Price
$ 2,099.00
(AUD)
The Dynabook Portégé X30W-J is incredibly light – 989gm to be precise. That’s almost ridiculous! Seriously, it is possible to balance it on a couple of fingers for minutes on end.
Novelty aside. When it comes to travelling, the Intel Evo-certified 2-in-1 convertible laptop with a 13-inch screen has to be almost unbeatable. Whether it be work or play you can take this one anywhere. For comparison, it’s half the weight of my DSLR camera and telephoto lens which live around my shoulders and neck a lot of the time, and weigh around 1.85kg.
Overall, it’s a good but not-quite-sensational convertible laptop that will keep most buyers very happy. I think it’s a tad expensive with a starting price of AU$2099 and the aesthetics are a little bland to these eyes.
