COVID-19 spreads to 14 local government in Kwara, death toll now 32

COVID-19 has now spread to 14 of the 16 local government areas in Kwara State, with 32 casualties recorded so far.
A Covid-19 Kwara update released on Saturday in Ilorin, by the State government, disclosed that Ilorin South local government has the highest number of confirmed cases, put at 576, with Ilorin West having 470 cases.
The statement said Ilorin East local government area has 116, Offa LGA, 32; Edu LGA 31; Ifelodun LGA 25; Asa LGA 19; and Oyun LGA 7.
Irepodun LGA has 6; Oke Ero LGA 6; Baruten LGA 5; Moro LGA 5; Kaiama LGA 2; and Ekiti LGA 2, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the State to 1296. ....

Kwara cashew farmers decry poor rural roads

Cashew farmers in Ora community, Ifelodun local government and their counterparts in Foko-Oja and Aboto-Oja communities in the Asa local government area of Kwara State have expressed their displeasure over deplorable condition of roads leading into the rural areas.
The people, under various groups of cashew farmers in the state, said that the state of the rural roads had made movement of their produce to market difficult.
Speaking at the inauguration of hand pump borehole at Magbon, Foko-Oja and Aboto-Oja communities of the state, donated by OLAM edible nut (cashew) factory, one of the community leaders in the Ora community, Chief Amusa Ishola, called on the government to come to their rescue. ....

The recipients Prince Jide Kosoko, Chiwetalu Agu, Usman Baba Pategi aka Samaja and Segun Aina Padonu aka Segun Arinze- all popular faces and long standing practitioners in the motion picture industry received the Long Time Achievement crest at the impressive ceremony held at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Abuja.
