(WFIE) - The Gibson County Sheriffâs Office is warning the community about counterfeit bills in the community. This comes after they recently received a few reports of counterfeit bills. They say in the past, theyâve seen some bills with âFor Motion Picture Use Onlyâ, but some of the recent ones have had âReplicaâ or âPlay Moneyâ printed on them. Authorities, tell us in one case, they had a report of a $5 bill that had been bleached out and reprinted as a $50.

Sioux Falls Police say the man passed a bill that said “For Motion Picture Use Only” on it and got cash. The clerk didn’t discover the fraud until after he left. The incident occurred at a hotel at 8th and Phillips Avenue. Police say to check the color and feel of the paper before accepting a large denomination bill.
