SRINAGAR, July 30: The Governing Body constituted for establishment and management of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Jammu and Kashmir convened it’s first meeting to finalise steps for operationalisation of existing EMRS and initiate process for new proposals in uncovered districts and tribal pockets, with focus on giving impetus to education in tribal areas.

SRINAGAR, July 27: A 5-day visit of the Expert Committee formed on the directions of the High Court is all set to commence from August-7 during which the Panel will visit hospitals across Kashmir division to assess the availability of the healthcare facilities.
During the visit, the Committee will be examining the healthcare facilities available in terms of infrastructure, human resources and equipment in various healthcare facilities in Kashmir valley.
The expert panel will also look into the facilities available with various departments in the hospitals across the Valley. The Panel has also been tasked to look for the shortcomings, if any, and make recommendations for fulfilling the same. ....

Report the occurrence of black fungus to Health Department: Assam Health Department

GUWAHATI: The State Health and Family Welfare Department has taken the occurrence of black fungus seriously even though it stopped short of declaring it an epidemic. In a notification issued on Wednesday, the Department made it mandatory for all government & private health institutions and medical colleges to inform the occurrence of black fungus to the State Health Department at the district level through the Joint Directors of Health Services.
The notification said that even though only one case of black fungus has been detected so far in Assam, the detection of black fungus cases has been more in other states of the country. Since the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare declared black fungus as a notifiable disease under Section 2 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 the occurrence of this fungus has to be taken seriously, the notification said. ....
