New Delhi [India], May 1 (ANI): AIIMS Delhi Director Dr Randeep Guleria said on Friday that the decision to administer Remdesivir must be taken by a medical professional and it should be administered only in a hospital setting.
Dr Guleria, who was addressing a joint media briefing, said a COVID-19 patient under home isolation will stand discharged and end isolation after at least 10 days have passed from the onset of symptoms and there is no fever for three days. There is no need for testing after the home isolation period is over, he said. ....

New Delhi [India], April 26 (ANI): AIIMS Delhi Director Dr Randeep Guleria on Monday in a press conference asserted that judicious use of oxygen is important to tackle the second wave of COVID-19.
We have to reduce the number of cases and use hospital resources optimally. The judicious use of oxygen is very important. Right now, there is an unnecessary panic, which is causing more harm than good, Dr Randeep Guleria said.
Unnecessary shortage of essential drug is being created in the market. Oxygen is an important treatment strategy for COVID-19, but misuse of it is also an important factor. If your oxygen saturation is 92, 93, 94, 95, 96 or over 96 it means that there is sufficient oxygen in your body (blood) and enough oxygen is reaching your organs, the doctor said. ....

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired a meeting to review steps taken to boost oxygen availability in the country in view of surge in COVID-19 cases and emphasized that there was an immediate need to augment the supply of medical grade oxygen as well as equipment required for patient care both at home and in hospitals.
It was decided in the meeting to grant full exemption from basic customs duty and health cess on import of 16 items related to oxygen and oxygen-related equipment for three months with immediate effect. It was also decided that basic customs duty on import of COVID-19 vaccines be also exempted with immediate effect for three months. ....

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired a meeting to review steps taken to boost oxygen availability in the country in view of surge in Covid-19 cases and emphasized that there was an immediate need to augment the supply of medical grade oxygen as well as equipment required for patient care both at home and in hospitals.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, Director Dr Randeep Guleria on Friday said that the new Covid-19 variants detected in India were more infectious, reported News18. He added that both doses of the Covid-19 vaccines must be taken as there was a significant chance of contracting the infection if just one dose is taken.
“Currently, as far as variants in India is concerned, we could say that based on whatever limited data that we have, it does seem the virus has become more infectious,” Guleria said in an interview. “And that is why we are seeing this huge spike in the number of cases in such a short period of time.” ....
