I m sure more happens in my mind than in my life. My mind is free to go anywhere. It has no limits, it can think anything, imagine anything and create anything. Many times I m very grateful people can t read my mind, but my mind is also inspired by things I hear, see and read and I just have to write them down. My compulsion becomes the Random Column.
April 9 was National Unicorn Day. I m not sure how to celebrate the holiday, but I received a card last year from my friend, Dee Kammermier, who lives in New York. It said. I believe in you and unicorns, but especially you. ....

DEVILS LAKE - Members from the VFW Auxiliary of Post 756, Devils Lake have been busy over the past few months, working on many service projects, while practicing Covid safety measures and protocols.
December 2020, some aux members gathered at the VFW Club to make a USA tie blanket for the VA Hospital. Later that day, they spend some time making gift bags for 25 aux members who are no loner able to be as active as they once were. Along with the gift bags, each recipient also received a bag of holiday decorations made by area elementary students, what a great job those kids did! The nice weather in December also gave more time to aux members to ring the bell for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive, along with helping to pass out food boxes with the Farmers to Families food program. ....

MILFORD For Mayor Ben Blake, Milford Family Resource Center Director Peggy Kelly is nothing short of a “a true force of nature.”
Blake spoke as Kelly’s last day last day as director of the center and as director of the Ready to Learn program is March 19.
“We want to thank Peggy Kelly for her 24-plus years with Milford Public Schools,” Blake said of Kelly. ....

The Salvation Army hires people to be bell-ringers, and that helps give them seasonal employment, but service clubs, like Kiwanis and Rotary, send their volunteers to the red kettles. Bell-ringers for the Mount Clemens Salvation Army are the New Baltimore Lions Club, the Mount Clemens Lions Club, the Mount Clemens Kiwanis Club, and the Mount Clemens Rotary Club. Bell ringers for the Salvation Army Warren Corps Community Center include the Kiwanis Club of Warren and the Rotary Club of Warren. WPS Auxiliary Fill-A-Cruiser Food Drive a Huge Success
It was a record year for the WPS Auxiliary Fill-A-Cruiser Food Drive. They were able to fill 12 cruisers with food donations and collect over $1,500 for the local Salvation Army.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service Auxiliary Unit was able to fill 12 cruisers with food donations on Saturday.
They were stationed at the Sobey s in Woodstock and set a new record for donations this year. The donations included 683 pre-made $10.00 bags sold by Sobeys, a variety of other donated non-perishable items as well as $500.00 worth of cereal products donated by General Mills and 39 bags donated by Giant Tiger, Woodstock / Oxford Rotary Club and the Community Free Table. ....
