Two Jersey City men, one an 18-year-old, were arrested Sunday and a gun was recovered after police responded to a report of a domestic violence incident, authorities said.
Terell Cheatham, 22, was charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.

Two Jersey City students are being celebrated as top spellers this week after being named champion and junior champion of the 2021 Hudson County Spelling Bee.
Seventh-grader Mujtaba Raja of Academy I won the champion title after surviving two tie-breaker rounds in competition with students in Grades 6 through 8. And fifth-grader Vansh Sunil Patel of School 27, the Alfred Zampella School, competed against students in Grades 2 through 5 to win the junior champion title.

Two Jersey City men who were shot by police two years ago have filed a federal lawsuit against the city, alleging that officers used excessive force and attempted to cover it up afterward.
The July 1. 2019 shooting, in which three Jersey City police officers fired 22 shots at a group of young men with fireworks in the city’s Arlington Gardens Public housing complex, left two unarmed men in the hospital and sparked a community uproar.
