Unofficial by-polls results: PML-N leads on 3 seats, PTI on one

ISLAMABAD/NOWSHERA: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz a component of the 10-party PDM was leading in the by-election held in two constituencies each of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, with violence marring the electoral exercise in NA-75, Sialkot-IV Daska leading to death of two workers and injuries to eight others.
Although the results were not officially declared by the Election Commission, PML-N workers began celebrating. PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz thanked God and shared what she claimed was the complete result obtained despite massive, blatant rigging . All the four seats had fallen vacant due to the death of lawmakers. The PML-N was leading in two constituencies of Punjab and one constituency of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These four constituencies are NA-75, Sialkot-IV Daska, PP-51 Gujranwala I, NA-45 Kurram I and PK-63 Nowshera III. ....

Election authority stops result of 1 constituency over suspicion of falsification of results, ruling party loses 2 seats.
Pakistan s opposition has accused the country s election authorities of trying to change results of Friday s violence-marred by-elections in favor of the ruling party.
The allegations came on Saturday after the Election Commission of Pakistan withheld results of a constituency in the northeastern Punjab province, which, according to initial results, was won by the center-right Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N).
The commission said in a statement that results of the National Assembly seat have been halted due to suspicion of falsification of results from polling stations in Punjab s Daska district, the main battleground for the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the PML-N in the by-polls. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday observed that a political party should get the number of seats in the Senate that is commensurate with its seats in provincial assemblies and if any party won seats out of proportion, the system could collapse.
The court observed this while hearing a presidential reference seeking the top court’s opinion on open balloting for the upcoming Senate elections. A five-member larger bench comprising Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan and Justice Yahya Afridi heard the reference.
During the proceedings, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja appeared in court and submitted a revised reply of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) before the bench. ....
