Rawalpindi: Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Sunday said that there would be no water shortage in Ramazan as the agency had taken special measures to ensure uninterrupted supply to its consumers.
Talking to this agency, he said that 524 tube wells and 160 filtration plants during the month of Ramazan would be operational without any interruption and a special cell had been established to deal with emergency complaints, he added.
He warned any negligence and laxity at the part of water section staff both in office and at tubewells would not be tolerated. He urged the consumers to register Water Complaint Sections located at Liaquat Bagh, Shamsabad, Commercial Market, Khayban-e-Sir Syed, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Chak Jalal Din, Dhama Syedan and Al Noor Colony. ....

Rawalpindi : Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) would launch a project soon to ensure water supply of additional 5 million gallons to the citizens daily, said Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Abdul Sattar Isani.
During his visit to Rawal Lake Filtration Plant he said a project would be launched soon to supply additional 5 million gallons water to the residents daily.
WASA Managing Director, Raja Shoukat Mehmood on the occasion informed the DG that Rawal Dam was built in 1962 and a Rawal Lake Filtration Plant was also installed to supply clean drinking water to the residents of Rawalpindi city. ....

FAISALABAD: Wasa Managing Director Jabbar Anwar Chaudhry Wednesday said mega projects worth Rs 55 billion were underway to provide clean drinking water and sewerage facilities to citizens of Faisalabad.
Addressing a function organized by All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce in honour of Wasa officers, the Wasa MD said all these projects would be completed in three years and the state of the city would be changed.
He said industrial community is the pride of the city and their problems will be addressed on a priority basis.
He said a 44 million gallon wastewater treatment plant worth Rs 19 billion with the support of the Danish government, a French water supply project worth Rs 16 billion Phase II to provide 30 million gallons of drinking water daily would be established. ....

LAHORE: The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) is all set to start construction of two underground water reservoirs in busy commercial localities which may also be used for public parking in off season.
Sources in the agency revealed that approval for funds for eight tanks had already been accorded by the cabinet committee. These tanks will be constructed on Waris Road, Karim Park, Railways Station, Cooper Road, Sheranwala Gate, Kashmir Road and Tajpura. Sources said approval for two tank projects to be constructed at Sheranwala Gate and Kashmir Road was already accorded by DDWP. ....
