County seeks input on future of juvenile hall

WOODLAND On July 27 and Aug. 11, the Yolo County Probation Department will hold virtual community listening sessions to elicit input on potential future uses for the Juvenile Detention Facility.
Similar to other counties in California, Yolo County has seen a significant decline in the number of youths housed at the Juvenile Detention Facility. As such, Yolo County’s Juvenile Detention Facility is underutilized. Again, similar to other California counties, Yolo County is grappling with how best to use its facility and other related resources to best serve youths.
During these two community listening sessions the Probation Department will provide information on current uses of the Juvenile Detention Facility and options for potential future uses that have been explored to date. Participants will then be invited to provide feedback on these options and offer input on additional opportunities that may not yet have been co
