Erebus Haunted Attraction considering $14.5 million sale of 2 downtown Pontiac properties

The brothers behind Erebus Haunted Attraction in Pontiac are taking offers to consider the sale of their two properties in the cityâs downtown.
The asking price sits at $10 million for the 113,000 square-foot haunt and $4.5 million for the teamâs 30,000 square-foot Erebus Escape Room. Ed Terebus, co-owner of the business along with his brother Jim, said theyâve received several offers for the properties this year.

Puppy Furlough program offering health care workers a furry friend for the weekend

Rochester Hills-based Elite Detection K9 (EDK9) is now offering employees at two Pontiac hospitals a chance to bring a puppy home for the weekend.
The Puppy Furlough Program kicked off last week at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital and McLaren Oakland Hospital. The organization raises and trains scent-detection dogs to be utilized in law enforcement.
âWe created the Puppy Furlough Program to enable hospital first responders to take a puppy home for the weekend to play with, experience some puppy love and, hopefully, help reduce some of the constant stress of caring for patients during the pandemic,â Greg Guidice, president and CEO of EDK9, said. âThe pups are energetic, high-drive Labrador Retrievers between the ages of three and seven months.â ....

New Young Pontiac Progressives Group adopts 3 local families with $7,500 in gifts

A new Pontiac nonprofit organization has adopted three local families for the holiday season with $7,500 in gifts and toys.
The Young Pontiac Progressives Group, founded by Ahmad Taylor, executive director of the Pontiac Housing Commission, formed this October. The group consists of businesses, entrepreneurs and area nonprofits with a focus on inspiring youth in the city to be more invested in Pontiac s politics, reinvention and economic development.
The Miller family stands beside their Christmas tree and $2,500 worth of toys and gifts in their Pontiac home. The family was one of three adopted for the holidays by theÂ Young Pontiac Progressives Group.Â ....
