The ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) has virtually trained over 4,000 government officials in cyber safety in the last three months, in the wake of an increase in such attacks, officials familiar with the matter told Hindustan Times.
The course, which started in December last, offers two variants a one-day basic training to avoid cases of cyber breaches and digital sanitisation, and a five-day deep dive into the technical aspects of the same. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Hyderabad is the implementing agency for both the training programmes. “More government officials are increasingly applying for the course,” an official said on the condition of anonymity. “We aim to try and train all government employees in the course of six months.” ....

NEW DELHI: The Centre Monday moved the Supreme Court seeking urgent hearing on the report filed by a high-level committee regarding the role of erring police officials in the 1994 espionage case relating to Isro scientist Nambi Narayanan who had been acquitted and was eventually awarded Rs 50 lakh compensation by the top court.
The matter was mentioned for urgent hearing by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta before a bench, headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde, which said that the case would be heard next week. ....

Supreme Court has on Monday agreed to hear next week Union of India s IA filed in the case of former ISRO Scientist Nambi Narayanan who was arrested in an espionage case which later turned out to be false.
The Court was informed that recommendations have been made by the committee headed by former SC judge Justice DK Jain, which was formed by SC in 2018 to inquire in to the role of police officers in the conspiracy against the ISRO Scientist.
The application has been filed to urge the Court to accept the report filed by the Committee and pass necessary directions to give effect to suggestions given and recommendations made by committee regarding steps to taken against the erring officials. ....
