Anthony P. Saia,  Tony , 89, of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Monday, March 8, 2021. He was the loving husband of Dorothy Ann (Douglass) Saia.
Mr. Saia was born on January 3, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY; son of the late Paul and Ninfa (Cosenza) Saia. He was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School and New Hampshire College. Mr. Saia served in the U.S. Army as a medical radiographer stationed in France.  A long time Ridgefield resident, Mr. Saia was a retired Radiology administrator. He managed departments of Radiology in a number of hospitals including Montefiore and Stamford Hospital, where the department increased in size and technology under his leadership. His varied interests included tropical fish, model airplanes, antiquarian books, carpentry, and traveling.  ....

Lecturer Emerita in Writing Joyce H. Seligman died June 7, 2020, at age 75.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Joyce graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and City University of New York. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Maine and taught writing at the University of Southern Maine and the University of Wisconsin before joining Bates in 1981 as the founding director of the Writing Workshop, now Writing at Bates. She retired in 2008 as lecturer emerita in writing.
In her time at Bates, Joyce and her team worked with more than 13,000 students. Along the way, she created a comprehensive program of undergraduate writing instruction and designed faculty development programs to improve the teaching of writing across the curriculum. Her legacy is seen in how Bates prioritizes writing as a curricular focus throughout a student’s career. ....

Sonny Fox, the beloved pioneer of kids television who demonstrated an amazing one-on-one rapport with children as the host of the New York-based Sunday morning program
Wonderama, has died. He was 95.
Fox died Sunday of pneumonia induced by COVID-19 in a hospital in Encino, his daughter, Meredith Fox, told
The Hollywood Reporter.
