1. World Lacrosse welcomed Saudi Lacrosse as its 70
th member nation.
The news dropped on Tuesday afternoon, making Saudi Lacrosse the seventh member nation added in the past year. It joins Qatar as the second Middle Eastern nation to become a World Lacrosse member nation.
2. Six news teams make an appearance in the Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25.
Unionville (Pa.), Skaneateles (N.Y.), Glenelg Country (Md.), Loyola Academy (Ill.), Eastport-South Manor (N.Y.) and Garnet Valley (Pa.) entered the National Top 25. ....

More than half of students across 61 Long Island school districts in grades 3-8 eligible to take the state English Language Arts exams refused, according to a Newsday survey.
Of the 83,247 eligible students in the districts that participated in the survey, 43,723 52.52% refused to take the exams, which wrapped up at the end of April.
This chart shows responses by 61 districts on the number of students eligible to take the tests, the number who took the tests, the number who did not take the tests and the percentage of those who did not take the assessments. School district residents go to the polls on May 18 to vote on budgets and members of their local boards for the coming school year. Below are the details on the ballots in 124 districts. Results will be posted here as they become available.

The Great Neck, Lawrence, Hewlett-Woodmere and West Hempstead districts received permission from the state to hold voting on May 11, before the statewide date of May 18, which is also the date of the Jewish holiday Shavuot.
