A north-east charity has been given a £90,000 funding boost to help people with sensory difficulties find work.
North East Sensory Services (Ness) will receive £18,000 from the Robertson Trust over the next five years to support its employment service in Aberdeen and Dundee.
The support scheme helps blind and deaf people find work, education and training opportunities while also assisting those who have recently been diagnosed remain in their current job. ....

A charity that supports deaf and blind people across the north-east is resuming its face-to-face services.
North East Sensory Services (Ness) provides practical and emotional support, and also assists with any equipment needs.
Users will now be able to return to the centres in Aberdeen and Elgin for for face-to-face support. Remote services will remain in place for those more vulnerable.
Chief executive Graham Findlay said: “We’re delighted that some in-person services have now started to resume. It has been a particularly challenging year for people with sensory loss.” ....

A blind man has spoken about his love for music – and how he mastered playing five keyboards at the same time for an Aberdeen metal band.
Matt Sobon lost his vision when he was just 12, following complications at birth and development issues after undergoing surgery when he was three.
Now 28, the musician has mastered the skills of playing the accordion, melodika, guitar, bass, a pat controller and five keyboards.
Mr Sobon, originally from Poland, moved to Aberdeen four years ago with his family and has since adapted to living in the city with the help of the North East Sensory Services (Ness). ....
