A north-east charity has been given a £90,000 funding boost to help people with sensory difficulties find work.
North East Sensory Services (Ness) will receive £18,000 from the Robertson Trust over the next five years to support its employment service in Aberdeen and Dundee.
The support scheme helps blind and deaf people find work, education and training opportunities while also assisting those who have recently been diagnosed remain in their current job. ....

A charity that supports deaf and blind people across the north-east is resuming its face-to-face services.
North East Sensory Services (Ness) provides practical and emotional support, and also assists with any equipment needs.
Users will now be able to return to the centres in Aberdeen and Elgin for for face-to-face support. Remote services will remain in place for those more vulnerable.
Chief executive Graham Findlay said: “We’re delighted that some in-person services have now started to resume. It has been a particularly challenging year for people with sensory loss.” ....

The charity will start to offer face-to-face appointments
Face-to-face services provided by a Dundee and Angus charity for blind and deaf people are set to resume as lockdown restrictions ease.
North East Sensory Services (NESS) has re-opened its resource centres in Aberdeen, Dundee and Moray for appointments only, allowing users to see social and rehab workers and try out equipment.
Changes have been made to the resource centres in light of coronavirus, with screens between individuals, hand sanitiser, and strict guidelines for appointments and the number of people in the building. ....
