Community service projects to recognize the service and sacrifices of veterans and volunteers
The Mission Continues is eager to recognize those who have put service above themselves since 9/11. This is a natural and necessary continuation of service for our veterans, who are doing what they do best ... volunteering in communities.
CHICAGO (PRWEB)
July 13, 2021
Throughout this year, thousands of veteran volunteers will lead and support service efforts across the country to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, recognizing the service and sacrifice of the all-volunteer force that served in the wake of that day. Launched by The Mission Continues, this extended campaign will also kick off the next 20 years of a veteran-led movement of service.

Construction on $4.7 million Cranbury Public Library to begin soon

CRANBURY – After a long wait, the borough is getting its own library.
The Cranbury Public Library Foundation hosted an official groundbreaking ceremony last week at 30 Park Place West, where the new library will be situated just off Main Street.
At just under 12,000 square feet, the library will have room for adult, teen and children’s materials as well as a large program room and community meeting areas. Also included is an archive to hold the Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society’s files and materials.
Construction is scheduled to begin this spring.
“This is the culmination of many years of strategic planning from dedicated board members in conjunction with our community," said Kirstie Venanzi, the library’s board of trustees president. “The board has been actively working on this project for over ten years and we are so excited to begin construction.”

4 Steps to a Happy Single Retirement

As her parents grew older, Carol Marak saw how they relied on their three children for care and knew that wouldn’t be an option for her. Without a partner or children, she would have to build a different future for herself.
Marak, 69, of Dallas, decided she had to learn as much as possible about how to age without close relatives to lean on. As one prong of that effort, in 2016 she started the private Facebook group Elder Orphans. Within a month, the site attracted about 1,000 members. It now has close to 10,000, who offer each other advice, resources and sometimes a shoulder to lean on. “It just keeps growing,” says Marak, who also runs a website with tips for the “solo and smart.”
