(Depoe Bay, Oregon) - It s a strangely beautiful yet jagged spot that s tucked away behind the usual features of Depoe Bay, containing an amazing span of puffy, bubble-like basalt cliffs as well as more ouchy spires and spikes of basalt. This little spot on the central Oregon coast is hard to find and thus nary another soul usually wanders here. However, there are dangers here: almost sheer cliffs that can lead you to your demise if you’re not careful. Still, it doesn’t take much to be safe here, and thus the rewards are many. ....

(Bandon, Oregon) – There s much about the southern Oregon coast s town of Bandon that s enticing, especially in the natural world. Sands that seemingly go on forever, interspersed by massive rocky blobs or spikes that help create a labyrinth, and that always-engaging ocean and its nearby wildlife. One activity that s coming into focus of late along the entire Oregon coast is the phenomenon of fat tire biking – bikes with wider-than-usual tires that allow you to roam nearly unhindered along the sands and at a quicker pace. The interior is characterized by the simplicity of its materials, also reflected in a clear and direct typological design. The social floor resumes to a single central volume in plywood, contrasting with the concrete floor. A fluid design is intended, with the living, dining and kitchen spaces connected as an informal and contiguous area. The relation with nature is privileged with generous windows.
The fact that this floor is elevated results in a close relation with the canopies, which have a very strong presence in the characterization of the interior social space. The lower floor, partially buried, and associated with the sleeping area, has a more protected and cavernous logic ....
