Generic Drugs Market Revenue Worth $786 Billion by 2030 says P&S Intelligence

Generic Drugs Market Revenue Worth $786 Billion by 2030 says P&S Intelligence
NEW YORK, March 17, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Almost 75% of the deaths in 2020 were because of chronic diseases, as per the World Health Organization (WHO). Among the diseases, the deadliest were ischemic heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and stroke. This is to be a major factor to propel the global generic drugs market size to $786.0 billion by 2030 from $278.4 billion in 2019, at a 10.0% CAGR between 2020 and 2030. This is because branded drugs are often expensive, which is why a large number of people in developing countries are not able to purchase them.
Generic drugs, on the other hand, are cost-effective, at the same time contain the same active ingredients and have a similar effect as patented drugs. In this regard, the generic drugs market is also being driven by the patent expiry of blockbuster medications. As patented drugs lose their certification, it gives pharmaceutical companies the opport ....

Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized influence operations to help Donald Trump in last November’s presidential election, according to a declassified intelligence assessment that found broad efforts by the Kremlin and Iran to shape the outcome of the race but ultimately no evidence that any foreign actor changed votes or otherwise disrupted the voting process.
The report released Tuesday from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence represents the most detailed assessment of the array of foreign threats to the 2020 election. These included efforts by Iran to undermine confidence in the vote and harm Trump’s re-election prospects as well as Moscow operations that used Trump’s allies to smear Joe Biden, the eventual winner. ....

Researchers harness AI to identify cancer cells by their acidity

2021 03 17 NUS researchers harness AI to identify cancer cells by their acidity 1
The novel technique of using AI to quickly analyse cells for cancer diagnosis was developed by an NUS research team led by Professor Lim Chwee Teck (left). With him are two team members – Dr Jokhun Doorgesh Sharma (centre) and Dr Yuri Belotti (right).
Healthy and cancer cells can look similar under a microscope. One way of differentiating them is by examining the level of acidity, or pH level, inside the cells.
Tapping on this distinguishing characteristic, a research team from the National University of Singapore (NUS) has developed a technique that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to determine whether a single cell is healthy or cancerous by analysing its pH. Each cancer test can be completed in under 35 minutes, and single cells can be classified with an accuracy rate of more than 95 per cent. ....
