Robin takes the lead on postgraduate agricultural distance learning

ROBIN WALKER has been appointed as leader of the Agricultural Professional Practice (APP) postgraduate distance learning programme.
Mr Walker s long career at SRUC started in 1999, when he was employed at Craibstone as an oilseeds and novel crop agronomist after completing his PhD at the University of London on nitrogen use in low input cropping systems.
He was involved in agronomic research as well as teaching on several undergraduate courses across a range of subjects, mostly within the Agriculture and Countryside Management programmes. He also helped develop some of the first distance-learning specific teaching materials, including a course on Organic Farming which won an Institute of IT Training ‘Online Course of the Year’ award, presented in 2001. ....
