On Tuesday, May 4, the U.S. Embassy in Kingston distributed 300 locally grown ornamental and fruit trees to persons in communities across Kingston, St. Andrew and St. Catherine, in support of the Government of Jamaica’s National Tree Planting Program.  Recipients included members of the Embassy’s local community namely residents of Standpipe, the University of the West Indies Guild of Students, Hope Valley Experimental School, and Mona Primary School. ....

On April 30, Brigadier General Alcides Faria, the U.S. Army South Deputy Commanding General for Interoperability, toured the USG funded mobile field hospital currently deployed in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, along with State Minister, Ministry of Health and Wellness, The Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn. This field hospital is the first of what will be three mobile field hospitals donated by the United States Government to the Government and people of Jamaica. ....

On Friday April 30, 2021, the United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), delivered its fourth tranche of emergency equipment to the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) to support the Government of Jamaica’s (GOJ) response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This support, implemented through the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), is part of the U.S. $2 million in assistance USAID is providing towards helping Jamaica fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is evident that what affects one affects all. The United States, through USAID, values Jamaica as our neighbor, partner, and friend, and we will continue to support the government and people of this country in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
