US midstream company Plains All American has reached an agreement to sell natural gas storage facilities on the US Gulf Coast to Hartree Partners for $850mn, it said June 8.
Plains CEO Willi Chiang said the sale contributes to its divestment and debt reduction goals, while boosting free cash flow.
“This is a win-win transaction for both parties,” he said. “Plains is exiting at an attractive valuation within a timeframe consistent with our expectations, while Hartree is receiving high-quality critical infrastructure in a strategic market.” ....

There is some 892.4mn metric tons/year of liquefaction capacity awaiting final investment decisions (FIDs), the International Gas Union has estimated in its
World LNG Report 2021, published June 3. A further 137.3mn mt/yr is either under construction or has been sanctioned for development, the gas industry association estimates.
However, the IGU notes that a large portion of the pre-FID projects are likely not to progress. Given the weak economic landscape in 2020, developers have pushed back on capital-intensive pre-FID liquefaction projects and reinstated their strategies. It adds this puts small-scale LNG in the spotlight as it remains a growing segment within the wider LNG sector with significant potential. ....

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has consented to plans by Enable Midstream Partners to build its Gulf Run natural gas pipeline in Louisiana, though raised objections June 1 to potential emissions.
Enable in 2018 said its planned Gulf Run natural gas pipeline in Louisiana would feed the growing demand for LNG exports along the US Gulf Coast. By 2019, it had landed a cornerstone shipper in Golden Pass, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil.
From the two companies, Enable has a 20-year shipper commitment for 1.1bn ft ....
