More than fifty regions across British Columbia work to eliminate racism with Resilience –

A network of anti-racism resistance, support, and resources.
On March 19, Resilience BC: Anti-Racism Network launched a new website that will provide support for anti-racism initiatives in communities across the province. The website includes a map with contact information for network members residing within each region, as well as educational tools, and “Report and Support” protocols.
“This new website will give British Columbians the support they need to quickly respond to racism, whether they are a witness or the victim of a hate crime,” said Rachna Singh, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives in a press release for Resilience BC.
The network provides a wide range of online resources such as e-learning classes, videos, podcasts, and access to government surveys and statistics. It extends beyond the densely populated urban areas and reaches into various rural communities in British Columbia. ....

THE submission of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) report to the UN coincides with anti-racism month in South Africa.
Anti-racism week is held annually in March.
It culminates on Human Rights Day and the international day for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination on March 21. It is an annual action week aimed at creating public awareness and how it affects individuals and broader society.
The Cabinet had approved the submission of South Africa’s ninth to 11th periodic country report on ICERD. Acting Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said the report outlined progress made by the country in putting in place legislative, judicial and administrative measures to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination. ....

VCF awards grants to 64 nonprofits through its Spark program

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Community Foundation announced today that in partnership with many of its generous fundholders $169,711.94 in Spark Connecting Community grants has been awarded to 64 nonprofit organizations for local projects in communities across the state, including some nonprofits that serve residents in multiple counties. Of the total funding awarded, $77,950 was made possible by Giving Together, a program at the Community Foundation that shares grant proposals with fundholders and donors to give them the opportunity to co-fund projects.
Spark Connecting Community is a competitive grant program at the Foundation that puts building and nurturing community front and center. The Community Foundation aims to support the work happening throughout Vermont’s 251 towns that builds social capital.
