United Airlines given top hygiene rating: What does it mean for an airline to be 'hospital-grade' clean?

The first of the four major US airlines to achieve the standard, United is now considered one of the world’s safest when it comes to hygiene standards.
The Chicago-based airline was given the top rating available in the independently verified 58-point assessment. It is one of only nine airlines in the world to have Diamond status in the safety rating operated by one of the world’s largest international airline associations.
Other recipient airlines include Alaska Airlines, Abu Dhabi s Etihad,
Saudia, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, Virgin Atlantic and Turkish Airlines.
To achieve the highest status, airlines must satisfy Apex that they fulfil several critical points during travellers journeys. These are divided into categories that assess check-in procedures, testing and tracing, airport facilities, security, lounge facilities, boarding procedures, in-flight and arrival measures, and sanitisation partnerships. ....

Etihad Aviation Training (EAT) has signed a contract
with Israir Airlines to offer Full-Flight Simulator pilot training
for Israir Airlines’ Airbus A320 pilots.
As part of the agreement, Israir will dry lease
EAT’s Full-Flight Simulators at the training facility located in
Abu Dhabi. The training will be conducted by Israir instructors at
the Etihad training facility.
Captain Paolo La Cava, Managing Director Etihad
Aviation Training, said, “Following Etihad’s announcement to
commence services to Tel Aviv, EAT is delighted to further
commercial opportunities with Israel by providing comprehensive
aviation training services to Israir Airlines.” ....

Creditors consider action against Air Seychelles in Etihad debt saga

DUBAI (Reuters) - Holders of around $70 million in troubled bonds issued on behalf of Air Seychelles are considering options including enforcement against the African carrier, according to sources and documents.
The action under consideration is the latest twist in broader creditor efforts to recover $1.2 billion in funds owed by Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways and related airlines including Air Seychelles.
Etihad is state-owned Air Seychelles’ second-biggest shareholder.
Air Seychelles, which has been hit particularly hard by the coronavirus crisis, was part of a consortium comprising Etihad and related airlines that borrowed the $1.2 billion through a special purpose vehicle in 2015 and 2016. ....
