Orsted plans $57bn investment in bid to become world's biggest green energy company

Orsted plans to spend 350 billion Danish kroner ($57bn) by 2027 to be the world’s leading green energy provider.
But the Danish firm, already the biggest developer of offshore wind farms, faces increasing competition from other utilities as well as oil majors that aim to be major players in the transition to clean energy, an area it pioneered when it ditched its fossil-fuel business for an all-renewable strategy.
As green energy grows from a niche to a key way the world gets electricity, Orsted is speeding up investment to keep its edge. The new target is an average annual increase of about 50 per cent from the company’s last strategy update in 2018, it said on Wednesday. ....

google: Google fined $123 million by Italy for abuse of dominant position

Italy s competition watchdog said on Thursday it had fined Google 102 million euros ($123 million) for abuse of its dominant position due to its Android mobile operating system and app store Google Play.
Through android and the app store Google Play, Google has a dominant position which allows it to control the reach app developers have on final users, the regulator said in a statement, adding that almost three-quarters of Italians use smartphones running on Android.
The regulator said Google did not allow JuicePass, an electric vehicle (EV) services app from Enel X, to operate on Android Auto - which allows apps to be used while driving - unfairly limiting its use while favouring Google Maps. ....
