BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced the Thunder on the Buffalo Waterfront Air Show will impact traffic on Route 5 Saturday and Sunday.
According to the DOT, from 8:00 a.m. to around 6:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday the exit ramps from Route 5 to the Outer Harbor will be closed. From 3:00 p.m. to around 6:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, the right lane of Route 5 inbound and outbound at the Outer Harbor will be closed so that traffic entering Route 5 has a free flow lane. ....

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced a new incentive for New Yorkers to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Beginning today, any New York State resident who gets their first COVID-19 shot – or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine – will have the opportunity to get a two-day pass to any state park.
The promotion will last through Monday, May 31, the governor said in a press release.
“Shot in the park is if you get a vaccine this week, anytime this week, you will get a two-day family pass to any state park,’ the governor said. “If you come to a state park on Memorial Day weekend, if you get a shot, when you come - Jones Beach is perfect. Driving in, you have to go right past the vaccine center. Stop get a vaccine. You get a two-day free pass to come into any state park. This is for all 16 parks across the state.” ....

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a new incentive Monday aimed at getting more New Yorkers vaccinated.
Cuomo says that every person who gets vaccinated with either a first dose, or single dose of Johnson & Johnson, anywhere in New York State between May 24 and 31 is eligible to receive a free two-day pass to any New York State Park valid through September 30, 2021.
Cuomo says there s a decline in the vaccination rate especially among the young and those who are doubtful.
The program applies to all 16 state parks across New York. ....

BUFFALO, N.Y. Last month New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said this year would be the year the Skyway came down. At this time, no official plan is in place; however, one local group has a suggestion.
The Campaign for Greater Buffalo released its idea, which they re calling Cloudwalk.
Under this proposal only part of the Skyway would be torn down from its entrance downtown to its highest point near the KeyBank Center. The rest of it would stay and there would be an elevator on the Canalside end, which would allow the rest of the Skyway to serve as a mode of non-vehicular transportation for people getting from downtown Buffalo to the Outer Harbor. ....
