The company donated two cars to automotive technology programs at Elizabethtown ComÂmunity and Technical College. Â
According to a news release, the vehicles are a 2020 Avalon and a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid and will provide ECTC students the opportunity to learn the latest technology in the automotive world.
âECTC would not have been able to purchase vehicles as frequently as needed to keep up with technology, so Toyotaâs donations ensure students are at the forefront in the automotive field,â according to the release.
âToyotaâs partnership and donation helps ECTC ensure students are prepared to meet the demands of todayâs automotive workforce and keep our region moving,â ECTC Dean of Workforce Solutions and Technical Programs Mike Hazzard said in the news release.

Elizabethtown ComÂmunity and Technical College will host its annual Beacons of Light Celebration virtually at 7 p.m. Friday.Â
According to a news release, âBeacons of Light recognizes African American heroes in the collegeâs service region for their success, exemplary service to their professions and communities, and commitment to servant leadership and equity.â
This yearâs honorees include Terrie Burgan, Ed Harris and Darian Parker and were selected by a special selection committee.
⢠Burgan, who serves as the health promotion manager and public information officer for the Lincoln Trail District Health Department, was nominated by Dr. Donielle Lovelle of Western Kentucky University.
Hardin County residents awoke Monday morning to a fresh blanket of snow on the ground as a second winter weather system in a week made its way through the area.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, most of the area saw less than two inches of snow and sleet Sunday night into Monday. Reports indicate Radcliff received around 5.9 inches.
A winter storm warning is in effect until 1 p.m. today.
In an emergency weather update Monday provided by Gov. Andy Beshear, he advised state residents should limit travel as much as possible during this weather event.
âWe are expecting two storms to hit the commonwealth this week. The first is here and the roads are already dangerous in places,â he said in the Monday morning video.

Taking dual-credit classes through Elizabethtown ComÂmunÂity and Technical College and HarÂdin County Schools Early College and Career Center, WinÂdell is on her way to earn an associate in science and an associate in arts degrees this year.
âIt gives me a lot of comfort knowing that I have such a head-start on my education,â she said. âWhen I sit down and think about it, this head-start has really helped me. I have had a lot tougher classes and a heavier workload; however, I think this has prepared me for college and the workforce.â
